Distance Education Course: A selected study of the background and theological themes of Biblical messengers with an application to notions of contemporary prophetic ministries.
Course Description: Old Testament Prophets is a selected study of the background and theological themes God’s messengers and their prophecies from the 9th through the 5th Century B.C.. These social reformers addressed the secularization of religion, the need to protect those socially disadvantaged and ‘saw’ the promises of a new day on the horizon. This course will equip the student with the skills to discuss the nature and role of Old Testament prophets, abstract some great theological principles for practical living and apply some of the books to challenging ministry positions faced today. Pre-requisites for this course are Hermeneutics (DETS3201) and Homiletics (DEPS2102).
